All new members must have at least a front and rear hitch before being allowed on a club green lane outing. The recovery points can be a simple ball hitch type, NATO hitch, or any ring type that, in the opinion of fellow club members, is considered to be of sufficient strength and safety. All new members to the club will be allowed to take part in two green lane outings before having to comply with the minimum equipment requirements set out below. MINIMUM EQUIPMENT REQUIRED. |
It is strongly advised that all members must carry the following equipment.
'GREEN DAY'
1. Front and rear recovery points
2. Recovery rope - 24 Millimeter 'Polyprop' or similar.
3. Shovel.
4. C.B. Radio
'BLACK DAY' / as
experienced on most 4x4 sites
Green day list plus
1. High-Lift jack or winch (powered or hand winch).
2. Mud pattern tyres.
3. Second rope (as above, or K.E.R.R.).
4. Bow saw.
5. Two shackles. Bow or 'D' type. Four or five inch.
6. All petrol engines should be waterproofed.
All green lane outings undertaken by the club are graded in terms of difficulties and obstructions that may be encountered on the day. Simply put, a "GREEN DAY" would generally thought to be a relatively easy day - the sort of day when you shouldn't find yourself up to your neck in mud and gear oil.
A "BLACK DAY" would offer something more of a challenge. It should appeal to those of you who like to get into as much trouble as is sensible
